To assist districts in supporting elementary English learners, we have developed Elementary Constructing Meaning: Explicit Language for Literacy Instruction. The Elementary CM Handbook offers K-6 teachers the process and tools to identify specific, content-driven language objectives and design instruction to address those objectives.
Because Elementary Constructing Meaning builds on E.L. Achieve’s approach to explicit language instruction, a Building Background Day is required for participants who have not attended a Systematic ELD Institute. Building Background Day Modules can be purchased for session participants.
